Pendar heads up SBTi’s Impact and Engagement team.

Pendar is a career strategist focused on the financial services sector, having led KPMG's Banking Strategy Team, acted as a Strategy and Planning Director at HSBC and sat on the Executive Committee of the British Bankers' Association as the Head of Strategy and Research.  

At the start of his career at PwC Consulting and Logica, he supported Energy and Utility firms with their regulatory driven systems and process change projects.

Pendar holds a PhD from Imperial College, where his research was aimed at reducing emissions from automotive vehicles.

In recent years, he has refocused on climate issues, supporting financial services firms to evolve their strategies to address climate change issues and opportunities.
